Novell and Virtualization

If you've been around computing for any length of time you've probably noticed how some concepts for Distributed computing
seem to get
recycled. It's kind of like clothing fads - if you hang onto those bell
bottom jeans they'll probably be back in style in a few years. One of
the concepts that has been around since the early days of IBM mainframe
computers is virtualization. The concept is making a comeback in a big
way with IBM and EMC (VMware) two key players in the game.Novell hopes to capitalize on the open source Xen project and use it to virtualize their Netware operating system on top of Linux. I wrote a piece for TechTarget's Search Open Source site on Novell's Linux roadmap and where they're going with virtualization.
