Commtouch has developed a Web-based malware outbreak notification resource that publicizes up-to-date and ongoing global malware information, as well as information about the latest variants, and solutions for known issues.

Commtouch's new site relies on data collected by its Zero-Hour Virus Outbreak Protection solution, as well as data from AV-Test.org, a third-party testing firm. Visitors to the site will also find comparative detection time information for major AV vendors, allowing them to compare product performance at the time of outbreak.

In addition to monitoring for malware, the Malware Outbreak Center features spam tracking statistics and a spam cost calculator.
