Mexens Technology has made its Navizon positioning system available to any Bluetooth- or WiFi-enabled computer. Navizon works by triangulating signals from WiFi and cell towers. Community users map the existing WiFi and cell infrastructure in their area, and the information is then shared with the rest of the network. Navizon turns non-GPS enabled laptops and handheld devices into virtual GPS receivers. The service works on Windows Mobile devices, BlackBerry handhelds, devices that run the Symbian OS and many (but not all) Java phones. Navizon provides accurate positioning information on maps; allows you to determine the location of friends and family; provides map directions; and allows users to leave annotated information which can be shared with other Navizon users.

Tekkeon now delivers an external, rechargeable laptop battery that will not only provide power to your laptop, but will also power and recharge portable USB devices as well.
