In its monthly survey of IT professionals, outsourcing firm Hudson indicated that IT workers were more confident in the stability of their jobs than were employees in most other sectors. Overall, confidence was measured at 114.6, nearly 10 points higher than August's figures. National confidence figures fell for the second time in as many months, dropping from 99.2 to 97.1. September's national confidence figures were only slightly higher than the lowest recorded level of 96.8, measured in September 2005.

Only 17 percent of tech workers indicated that they were concerned about losing their jobs, and 4 out of 5 workers indicated that they were happy with their current employment situation. Demand for technology workers continues to be strong and Hudson estimates that the tech jobs most in demand are software and technology architects, business analysts, project managers and Web developers. Hudson also indicated that it expects demand to remain strong for IT workers for the next several years.
