Fujitsu has developed a third series of 2.5" hard drives designed for continuous use. The drives are available in capacities up to 200 GB and should be on the market by August. Applications for the drives include industrial and Medical equipment, ATMs, servers and data storage systems. The drives also offer reduced heat generation and low power consumption. The MJY2 BS series drives have a disk speed of 5,400 RPM and a serial ATA interface. Fujitsu also offers the MHW2 BK series drive, which has a rotational speed of 7,200 RPM and the MHW2 AC series drives, which are designed to operate in extreme temperatures.
