Flash Padlock Secures USB Data
In August, Corsair introduced a USB Flash drive with a manual padlock to secure information on the drive. The Flash Padlock drive is not substantially larger than a standard USB drive, and features a set of buttons that allows the user to enter a programmed code to unlock the device. The drive comes in a 1GB and 2 GB version

The drive self-locks when it is removed from the computer, so users do not need to remember to secure the device. Corsair supplies a PIN registration and Retrievallinks service for the drive, in the event a user forgets his PIN. The PIN is user-settable for easy recall. Indicator lights on the drive identify the drive's status. The Flash Padlock drive does not require any special software support, making the device platform independent.

The 1 GB Flash Padlock Drive retails for $29.99 and the 2 GB version retails for $39.99.
